ARC: How to Help
The Academic Resource Center is the electronic outlet of the Academic Division of the American Marketing Association.
There are variety of needs - many of which unique to electronic media - to be filled with the thrust of a contribution or role pertaining to academic research in marketing, teaching marketing, the connections we make within our academic community, service to that community, career issues or some combination of two or more of these. All contributors receive an entry in the ARC Helpers page. Note that many of these entries receive 100's of hits per week.
Content Editors - Experts within the various content areas of marketing who would like to gather resources and take charge of a subsection of the site.
Bloggers - I am looking for entertaining writers to write about teaching marketing. Other possibilities revolve around the various marketing content areas, or current events. I would like to find writers who would commit to creating a column or blog updated at least monthly.
News Spotters - See an interesting article online that could be used in class to make a point about marketing? Let us know about it at arc@ama.org.
Bibliography Contributor - Are you proud of your citation database that you use in your special area? You can submit your collection to the ARC Citation Database page.
Theory Experts - This section is ideal for Ph. D. students who come into contact with various marketing theories and constructs in the course of their graduate education. You can write a brief overview of a theory or construct and identify key literature. It will then take its place on the ARC Marketing Theories page.
E-Research or E-Teaching Editor - This is an open-ended invitation to someone with a technical side where we might be able to invent a unique role. A natural topic for the ARC is software of any kind: bibliographic, statistical or presentation, and either research software or software used for teaching purposes.
Article Writers - The Archive of Marketing Education has taken up the mantle of the old Marketing Educator Quarterly which published longer, peer-reviewed articles on marketing education.
Eagle Eyes - See a typo or a broken link? Please tell us about it!
How do I submit something or just say hi? That is pretty simple, actually - just send email to arc@ama.org.
Sincerely,
Charles Hofacker, Editor
