The AMA, along with many generous individuals, offers awards for influential articles and books in marketing, and for lifetime achievement. Many of these awards are funded via the American Marketing Assocation Foundation.

• Journal of International Marketing Awards
• Hans B. Thorelli Award - long-term contribution to international marketing theory
• S. Tamer Cavusgil Award - for practice in international marketing management
• Journal of Marketing Awards
• Harold H. Maynard Award - the year's best article on marketing theory.
• Marketing Science Institute/H. Paul Root Award - contribution to practice
• Sheth Foundation Award for long-term contributions to marketing
• Journal of Marketing Research Awards
• William F. O'Dell Award - for long-term contribution to theory, practice or methods
• Paul E. Green Award - yearly best contribution to marketing research practice.
• Journal of Public Policy & Marketing Award
• Thomas C. Kinnear Award - best contribution for the previous three years
    
• AMA/Irwin/McGraw-Hill Award - which is the Distinguished Marketing Educator Award.
    
• Charles Coolidge Parlin Marketing Research Award - Given by the AMA Foundation.
      
• Berry-AMA Book Prize - given to the book judged "Best in Marketing" for the year.  
   
• Erin Anderson Award - for an emerging female marketing scholar and mentor.
   
• AMA/University of Illinois Paul D. Converse Award - for contributions to marketing scholarship.

• Retailing and Retail Management: Lifetime Achievement - for contributions to retaling.
• Retailing and Retail Management:  Davidson Awards for outstanding papers in the J Retailing.
• Selling and Sales Management: Don McBane Special Recognition Award for service.
• Selling and Sales Management: Excellence in Research Award - the year's best paper.
• Selling and Sales Management: Lifetime Achievement Award - for Research in Sales
• Selling and Sales Management: McGraw-Hill/Irwin Sales Teacher of the Year
• Services Marketing: Career Contribution Award - for research in services marketing.
• Services Marketing: Article of the Year - on a topic related to services marketing.
• Teaching and Learning: Prentice Hall/Solomon-Marshall-Stuart Award - for innovation.
• Technology and Innovation: Best Paper Award - on marketing of, or with, technology.
